At Isca Driving School we only use fully qualified driving instructors (ADI) and our lessons are tailored to the the pupil so they learn how to drive for life and not just learn a test route. Every lesson is one on one, there is no sharing of lessons with other pupils, so you get 100% attention 100% of the time.
There are many benefits to learning in an automatic car. Automatics are easier to drive so most people can get to the required standard far quicker than in a manual. Once you pass your driving test in an automatic you will not be able to drive a manual, but you can take that next step at a later date once you have some driving experience.
Automatic benefits at a glance
Stress free learning
For most people learning how to use the clutch, gears and accelerator together can be very stressful. Get it wrong and you either stall, bunny hop across the road or the car starts rolling backwards. This fear creates anxiety and distracts the pupil from developing their awareness and planning skills, this also creates uncertainty in their decision making process. The good news is that with an automatic car this aspect of learning to drive is completely removed allowing the pupil to develop their driving confidence much more quickly.
Nervous drivers
Learning to drive can be a very daunting thing for anyone, so if you are feeling nervous or anxious about getting behind the wheel learning in an automatic can really help with those worries. Your concentraition and coordination will be greatly helped with not having to think about the clutch, gear selection, acceleration and observation all at the same time. Confidence will quickly grow resulting in a safe and competent driver for life.
